Forstner: Individual and substantial!
An integral part of the local scene is the brewery Forstner from Styria. Reasons for the ultimately successful and internationally received attention for their beer variations were on the one hand, the fact to rethink the brewing concept and on the other hand, the harmonic experimentation of aromatic ingredients. Their beers are great, innovative and a bit „crazy” – in the best sense – and also excellently brewed.
The brewery was founded in 2000 by Gerhard Forstner as „Hof-Bräu Kalsdorf“ and subsequently renamed „Handbrauerei Forstner“. Since 2014, Elfriede Forstner-Schroll (photo: www.forstner-biere.at) has been brewing individual and full-bodied beers, passionate, with heart and a lot of gut feeling, each with a very special touch in the tradition of her deceased husband in Kalsdorf.
Incidentally, Elfriede Forstner was named as this year’s “Brewmaster of the Year” by Gault & Millau; she received the title as the first woman in this discipline, to which we sincerely congratulate.
